Questions we get asked
Space, setup, weather, ages, travel, paperwork. Pricing and deposits live on the pricing page.
What turns up at my event?
A custom-built 2024 trailer containing four arcade basketball games. The side lifts up into an awning, the machines run on unlimited free play for the whole booking, and the balls are there waiting. There is nothing else for you to hire, plug in or hand out.
How much space does it need?
The trailer is 18 feet long, 8.5 feet wide and 10 feet tall — roughly the footprint of two parked cars, plus clear space in front of the play side for the awning and a queue. It needs firm, reasonably level ground and a clear path to tow it in. Tell us where you are thinking of putting it and we will tell you honestly whether it works before you book.
Can it go indoors?
Yes, where the venue genuinely has the room and the access. The limiting factors are almost always the 10-foot height and the load-in width rather than the floor space. Send us the door height and the route from the street and we will confirm straight away.
Do you stay and run the games?
No, and that is the point. We arrive about fifteen minutes early, set everything up, walk you through the games and answer any questions, then leave and come back at the end of your booking. Nothing about the trailer or the machines needs supervising, so nobody has to be assigned to it.
What happens if it rains?
We are there rain or shine. The big doors your guests play through are shielded, so the shooters stay dry. If the weather is bad enough that you would rather move the whole event, talk to us early and we will look at the calendar together and find another date.
Is there an age limit?
The games are suitable for all ages. We have found six years and up is the sweet spot, and we recommend adult supervision for younger children. Adults consistently play more than the hosts expect them to.
How far will you travel?
We deliver the trailer anywhere you would like in Southern California. We go across Los Angeles County most often, and regularly into Orange County and the Inland Empire. Longer runs are worth booking further ahead, because a distant Saturday takes the whole day.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can. Dates are only held once a deposit is on them, and the peak windows — spring weekends, graduation season in May and June, and the first three weeks of December — fill first. If your date is fixed, book it before you finalise anything else.
Can I book it for a corporate event or trade show?
Absolutely. Corporate events, team-building days, company picnics, expos and brand activations are a regular booking, and all-day bookings run up to ten hours for a full show day. Venues and property managers usually want a certificate of insurance, so raise that when you enquire rather than the week of.
Do you offer discounts for multiple bookings or referrals?
Occasionally. We run promotions for repeat bookings and referrals at different times of year — ask us what is running when you enquire and we will tell you.
Is it really patented?
It is filed. Hoop is officially patent pending with the USPTO. The design patent protects the concept from being copied and lets us operate in this space with confidence.
Do you license the trailer in other cities?
Yes. Hoop trailers are licensed in cities beyond Los Angeles, and the parent brand handles licensing enquiries for anyone who wants to run one in their own area.
Questions that only come up for your kind of event
School districts want a facilities form. Hotels want a certificate of insurance. HOAs ask about the cul-de-sac. Each page answers its own.
